RPG Tools

Here are some tools I've developed for RPG's I'm playing or interested in playing:

Altonomy

Altonomy is my partner's RPG and I'm a huge fan of it. It's our go-to game, the base that we work from. I'm working on a character generator for the system. It's a little rough around the edges right now (only Fighter-type characters so far, not-so-nice interface), but I'll keep working at it in the weeks to come:

Moldvay Basic D&D

After listening to Ben Lehman's interview on Sons of Kryos in which he's asked about his interest in Basic Dungeons & Dragons, some friends and I decided to try it out. The results were ... mixed (I have some issues with the combat system), but I have to say the random dungeon creator at the back of the Moldvay edition is nicely evocative without bugging you down in unnecessary detail. Given my obsession with random content algorithms, it's not surprising I implemented Moldvay's. (Note that the treasures listed are for a group of monsters and not necessarily the individuals you roll for the room -- I made this mistake and ended up with 3 Dwarves with 6,000 platinum pieces!)

Reign

Greg Stolze's game REIGN has been monopolizing my reading time for the past few weeks. I've not yet had a chance to play it, but I definitely mean to try it out in the near future. One of the neat aspects of the game is One-Role Chargen. Roll a bunch of d10s and you have an instant character! I've automated the process on a series of webpages:
